Cee’s Black & White Photo Challenges : Houses/Rumah

Hi Cee!
After vacation, I am back! Here is my collection (sssttt..I forgot where my flashdisk is, it contains of lotza homes! aarrgghh).

Location : Semarang, Central Java, Indonesia

This is the most iconic building in Semarang called Lawang Sewu (Thousand doors). In the early 20th century, it was functioned as railway office until World War 2. During Japanese occupation, it was supposedly used as underground jail and killed many people over there. This building was left in 1994, and for more than 10 years, it was abandoned as there’re rumours about various ghosts and urban legends related to Lawang Sewu.

Though it has got scary reputation, but nowadays it has already been restored and becomes one of Semarang’s icon along with Old City and Tugu Muda.
