(Weekly Photo Challenge) : Early Bird/ Pagi Buta

How to translate ‘early bird‘ in Bahasa Indonesia?
For my interpretation is ‘pagi buta’ when the sun starts to rise up from its sleeping bed. And this is my interpretation for this week’s challenge.

  1. I love it!
I know not any language but my own but I think you convide your translation well.

    1. Thank you Sir, this is why I always be bilingual in my contents..language is source of knowledge for me. 🙂 (eh….naturally I am trilingual hehe).

  2. Debbie says:

its great to have other interpretations of phrases in differing languages. culture impacts language so much – a direct translation of “early” and “bird” – which references the phrase “the early bird catches the worm” won’t work.
Are there phrases or idioms like this which capture the beautiful expression of “the sun rises above its sleeping bed” in indonesian?
    lovely photos, too.

    1. Yes, Bahasa Indonesia has no rich words or vocabularies about snow, glacier etc as we are in tropical islands, but talking about maritimes or agricultural terms, we’re so rich. Hehehehe..

Hmm…”the sun rises above its sleeping bed”? it’s simply “matahari beranjak dari peraduannya”

      1. Debbie says:

yes… the Inuit people have over 50 words for snow because that is what they experience. would love to hear more – maybe another post – about the rich vocubulary of maritime words in bahasa indonesian…..

      2. I hope I can give more in the future. Because many of them are rooted from vernaculars.

  3. Just beautiful! What a way to greet the day!
