Weekly Photo Challenge : Monument/ Tugu – Raffless’ Wife Memorial, Bogor/Buitenzorg

Monument is a building or something else which built to commemorate events, historical events or…yeach for commemorate. Usually one monument can be a landmark of a city or place. I just wanna share some of the places I considered as monument. I don’t have many photos related of this week’s theme. But I hope you’ll like it.

ImageA monument for commemorating Raffles’ wife. Location : Kebun Raya Bogor, Bogor, West Java
(formerly it was called Buitenzorg)

This is the plague, Raffles used to be a lieutenant governor for Java and dependencies.

It is located inside the historical Kebun Raya Bogor (Bogor Central Park) which has established since 2 centuries ago. Not all Indonesians know about the history behind this park, even for knowing this plague or monument. But this is history, it’s shown that Raffles was ever here.

And extra from me…..Jalesveva Jayamahe (Victorious at the sea) monument of Surabaya, East Java

  1. Wow, the statue on top of the last building is HUGE!!

    1. I took it from ferry, and zoom it as it’s actually 2 miles away from my standing place.
