(Weekly Photo Challenge) : Abandoned/ Yang Ditinggalkan


For this week’s challenge, I’d like to share my photographs during visitation to Old Banten, Serang, Banten. I choose ‘Keraton Kaibon’ or ‘Mother’s Palace’ ruins. It was formerly residental palace of Sultan Syaifudin (1809-1813) and also his mother ‘Ibu Ratu Aisyah’. After Banten sultanate was dismissed by Dutch in 1816, the palace was then converted into regency’s palace. It was then ruined in 1832 and only left its foundations and some ruins.

It is located in Kroya, Kasunyatan Village, Kasemen, Municipality of Serang (60 km westward of Tangerang) and now it becomes one of tourism objects in Old Banten.

  2. Peninggalan kerajaan Islam ya. Apa yang menjadi pertanda khusus lewat situs tersebut tentang budaya Islam di masa lalu?

    1. Hanya tersisa reruntuhan saja. Karena dibongkar pada tahun 1832, dan beberapa cirinya disimpan di Museum dekat bekas Keraton Surosowan.

    harus bongkar2 foto lama nih. masalahnya foto di kota tua ada modelnya mulu nih. gak bisa pake deh. 😀
