Jun is a kind of pottery made of clay and look like large bottle. It is placed in a bamboo woven basket. It is used for what we call here wedang jun. It is a kind of herb made of coconut milk, ginger, cardamom, pepper, brown sugar and other herbs. It is served with herb balls made of shredded coconut, brown sugar and spices, as well as areh (from sticky coconut milk) and sprinkled with pepper (if you like it).
It is usually sold by an old woman who wears kebaya, farmer’s hat and brought by roaming around or in particular place. Its price is not so expensive, between IDR 2,500 – 3,000 per bowl you can enjoy it. It is warm and refresh particularly in rainy season.
