This is one of typical Indonesian dish, especially in Jakarta and its surroundings. Based on Betawian cuisine. It is special omelette called Kerak Telor. It is special because made of egg (either chicken or duck), glutinous rice, several spices, and dried shrimp. It is fried over charcoal so that’s why it tastes little bit smokey. Kerak telor is special snack and sold by hawkers though it has been rare. Surprisingly, I can even meet Kerak telor seller in Semarang and Solo recently. And I don’t have to go to Jakarta to enjoy it then. Hehehee.. The photos are 100% my own.
